The defining characteristic of the G5 was its push-button release chin mechanism. This allowed the bottom section—housing the USB-C port, loudspeaker, and a removable 2800 mAh Li-Ion battery—to detach from the main body. Designed to support expanding accessories and instant battery swaps without removing a traditional back cover, the G5 appealed directly to Android power users and hardware tinkerers.
