Safety

Step-by-step

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole on the right side of the device. Push firmly to eject the SIM and microSD card tray.

Release the Bottom Module
1 minPress the module release button located on the lower-left edge of the phone frame. The bottom module chin will spring outward slightly.

Remove the Battery Assembly
1 minGrasp the bottom chin and pull it straight out from the device body to remove the modular battery assembly.

Detach the Battery
2 minHold the bottom chin module firmly and angle the battery sideways to unclip it from the module base.

Remove Module Screws
2 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the two small screws located on the bottom module chassis.

Pry Open the Module Casing
3 minInsert a thin plastic prying tool into the seam between the outer plastic cover and the internal module assembly.

Separate the Shell Clips
2 minGently work the prying tool around the perimeter to release the plastic clips securing the outer module cover.

Unseat the Loudspeaker Unit
2 minUse a spudger to lever the loudspeaker module out of its designated recess in the sub-board frame.

Clean Contact Terminals
2 minWipe the gold spring contact pads on the circuit board using a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

Install the Replacement Speaker
2 minAlign the new loudspeaker module with the cavity and press it firmly into position until seated flat.

Snap Casing Together
2 minAlign the outer plastic cover over the internal module chassis and press around the edges to engage all retaining clips.

Fasten Module Screws
2 minReinsert and tighten the two Phillips #000 screws to hold the module casing firmly closed.

Reconnect the Battery
1 minAlign the base of the battery with the clip socket on the bottom module and press down until it snaps securely.

Reinsert the Lower Module
1 minAlign the battery assembly with the bottom phone cavity and slide it completely in until the side latch clicks.

Reinstall the SIM Tray
1 minPlace the SIM and microSD cards back onto the tray, then slide the tray into the phone until flush with the frame.
After your LG G5 speaker repair
