Step-by-step

Turn off the Pixel Watch 2

Slice the bottom adhesive
2 minContinue cutting the adhesive strip by moving the opening pick across the bottom edge of the watch body.

Slice the left edge adhesive
2 minSlide the pick up the left side of the frame to separate the remaining perimeter adhesive.

Pry up the screen assembly
2 minGently lift the display up from the top edge, hinging it toward the bottom where the display flex cable connects.

Remove the connector shield
2 minUse precision tweezers to unclip the small metal shield covering the display flex cable connector.

Disconnect the display flex cable
1 minPry the display cable connector straight up from its motherboard socket using the flat end of a plastic spudger.

Clean residual adhesive
5 minApply isopropyl alcohol to the watch housing ledge and scrape away all leftover adhesive using a plastic tool.

Apply new display adhesive
3 minPeel the protective backing off the pre-cut adhesive gasket and press it precisely along the inner ledge of the watch case.

Connect the replacement screen
2 minAlign and press the flex cable connector of the new screen onto the motherboard socket until it snaps into place.

Reinstall the connector shield
2 minPlace the metal shield bracket back over the flex connector and press gently to lock it in place.

Press and seal the display
3 minRemove the adhesive liner, align the replacement screen, and press firmly around all perimeter edges to secure the bond.
