   Power Down Device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Disconnect all external cables and accessories.

   Heat Display Edges

   Use a heat gun on low setting to warm the perimeter of the screen for two minutes. This softens the factory adhesive underneath the glass.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the top edge of the display panel. Pull upward gently to create a small gap near the frame.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the seam between the screen and the aluminum frame. Do not push deeper than 3 mm to prevent damaging the display layer.

   Slice Display Adhesive

   Slide the pick slowly around all four edges of the tablet to cut through the adhesive. Insert additional picks in the corners to keep the glass separated.

   Lift Display Assembly

   Gently open the display like a book from the top edge. Avoid pulling sharply to prevent damaging the flex cable connected at the bottom.

   Disconnect Screen Cable

   Use a plastic spudger to pry up the metal bracket shield and disconnect the screen flex cable from the motherboard. Set the screen aside on a clean surface.

   Disconnect Battery Flex

   Locate the battery flex connector on the motherboard and pop it straight up using a plastic spudger. This prevents electrical shorts during repair.

   Unscrew Button Bracket

   Unscrew the two Phillips #00 screws securing the internal metal button bracket to the side chassis. Store the screws carefully.

    Remove Metal Bracket

    Use precision tweezers to lift the metal retaining bracket away from the power and volume button assembly.

    Peel Button Flex Cable

    Slide the flat edge of a spudger under the button flex cable. Gently pry it off the internal frame adhesive and remove it.

    Extract Physical Button Keys

    Push the exterior power and volume key caps inward through the side frame cutouts using tweezers to remove them.

    Clean Button Recess

    Apply a drop of isopropyl alcohol to a cotton swab and clean out any lint or adhesive residue from the button housing cutout.

    Insert New Key Caps

    Position the new outer button key caps into the side frame slots from the inside. Ensure they sit flush and spring properly when pressed.

    Install Replacement Flex Cable

    Align the new power and volume flex cable over the frame alignment pins. Press down along the cable to secure its pre-applied adhesive.

    Reinstall Metal Bracket

    Place the metal button bracket back over the new flex contacts. Thread and tighten the two Phillips #00 screws until snug.

    Reconnect Battery and Test

    Snap the battery flex connector back onto the motherboard. Plug in the screen flex cable temporarily and press the power button to confirm tactile click and boot up.

    Reseal Display Assembly

    Apply fresh pre-cut adhesive strips around the frame perimeter. Reconnect the screen cable, align the display onto the chassis, and press firmly to seal.
