   Power down tablet

   Press and hold the power button until the shutdown prompt appears. Tap Power Off and wait for the screen to go completely dark.

   Remove microSD card tray

   Insert a SIM ejection tool into the hole next to the card slot. Push firmly to pop the tray out and set it aside.

   Insert opening pick into rear seam

   Wedge a plastic opening pick into the thin gap between the plastic frame and the rear cover near the volume buttons.

   Unclip rear cover perimeter

   Slide the pick along the outer edge of the device to release the plastic retaining clips securing the cover.

   Lift away rear cover

   Carefully separate the rear plastic cover from the frame assembly and place it on your workspace.

   Disconnect battery cable

   Use a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up off the motherboard socket.

   Unscrew the small Phillips #00 screws securing the metal shield bracket over the display connectors.

   Use tweezers to lift the metal connector shield off the motherboard.

   Flip open the small ZIF connector locking lever and slide the thin digitizer ribbon cable out.

    Use a spudger to pry the main LCD press-fit ribbon connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

    Heat front display perimeter

    Apply heat around the front glass edges with a heat gun for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the frame adhesive.

    Attach suction cup

    Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower section of the front screen assembly.

    Slice screen perimeter adhesive

    Pull up on the suction cup to create a gap, insert a guitar pick, and slide it around all four edges of the glass.

    Separate screen from frame

    Slowly pivot the damaged screen assembly off the frame while carefully threading its flex cables through the frame slot.

    Clean frame adhesive residue

    Dampen a cloth with 91% isopropyl alcohol and scrape away all remaining adhesive tape and glass fragments from the frame.

    Apply double-sided adhesive

    Lay fresh double-sided adhesive strips along the entire inner perimeter of the display frame.

    Thread flex cables

    Feed the digitizer and LCD flex cables of the replacement screen assembly through the slot in the front frame.

    Press screen into frame

    Align the replacement screen with the frame borders and press firmly around all edges to secure the adhesive seal.

    Reconnect LCD and digitizer cables

    Slide the digitizer ribbon into its ZIF lock, close the latch, and press the LCD connector onto its motherboard socket.

    Reattach display bracket

    Set the metal connector shield back over the ribbon cables and reinstall the Phillips #00 screws.

    Reconnect battery cable

    Align the battery connector with its socket on the motherboard and press down until it snaps into place.

    Snap rear cover into place

    Position the rear cover over the body and squeeze the edges firmly until every clip clicks shut.
