Step-by-step

Power off the tablet
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Disconnect any charging cables.

Remove the microSD card
1 minOpen the side microSD card slot cover with your thumbnail. Pull out any inserted microSD card to prevent damage during opening.

Insert opening pick
2 minInsert a plastic guitar pick into the seam between the front display bezel and the rear cover near a corner.

Unclip perimeter clips

Clean battery compartment
2 minWipe away remaining adhesive residue from the inner chassis using isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth.

Apply adhesive strips
2 minPlace new double-sided adhesive removal strips onto the floor of the battery tray.

Install replacement battery
2 minPosition the new battery in the recess and press down firmly on its edges to secure it in place.

Reconnect battery cable
2 minAlign the battery connector with its socket on the motherboard and press it straight in until fully seated.

Reattach motherboard bracket
3 minPlace the metal bracket back over the motherboard and reinstall the Phillips #00 screws tightly.

Snap rear cover back on
2 minAlign the rear case with the front screen assembly and press firmly around the entire perimeter until clips snap closed.

Reinsert microSD card
