Step-by-step

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray at the bottom of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it completely.

Heat the rear glass panel
3 minApply heat to the edges of the back cover using a heat gun or hair dryer for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the rear adhesive.

Attach the suction cup

Slice the perimeter adhesive

4 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper plastic motherboard cover and wireless charging coil frame.

2 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket to disconnect power.

Unscrew the bottom loudspeaker cover
3 minRemove the Phillips #000 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly located over the lower daughterboard.

Pry out the loudspeaker module
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the notch of the loudspeaker housing and pry upward to remove it from the device.

Disconnect the daughterboard interconnect cable
2 minUse the edge of a spudger to pry the main flex interconnect cable straight up from the bottom sub-board.

Disconnect the antenna coaxial cables
2 minUse fine tweezers or a spudger tip to gently unclip the white and black coaxial antenna cables from the daughterboard.

Pry up the old microphone sub-board
3 minSlide a flat spudger under the daughterboard housing the primary microphone and lever it up from the light adhesive beneath.

Install the new microphone daughterboard
5 minPosition the new microphone sub-board into the lower housing, press down to adhere it, and reconnect the antenna and flex cables.
