Step-by-step

Power down the device

Remove the SIM card tray

Heat the back cover
2 minApply a heat gun or heated pad around the outer edges of the rear glass for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction handle

Unplug the antenna coaxial cables
2 minUse tweezers to carefully lift the coaxial antenna cable heads off their terminals on the daughterboard.

Pry out the damaged charging port board
2 minGently lever the charging port sub-board up out of its recessed chassis pocket.

Position the new charging port board
1 minPlace the replacement daughterboard into the chassis slot and press down until it sits flush.

Attach the antenna coaxial cables
2 minAlign the antenna cable connectors over the sub-board headers and press down softly to snap them into place.

Reconnect the interconnect ribbon cable
1 minPress the sub-board interconnect flex connector firmly down onto the new board.

Reconnect the battery cable
1 minSnap the main battery connector back into its socket on the motherboard.

Reinstall the loudspeaker module
2 minSet the loudspeaker cover back in place and secure it with the Phillips screws.

Apply fresh back cover adhesive
3 minClean the frame rim with isopropyl alcohol, then line the perimeter with new pre-cut adhesive.

Press the rear glass into place
2 minAlign the rear cover with the device frame and press firmly around all edges to secure the seal.
