   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select the power off option on screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray on the bottom edge. Push firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

   Heat the rear glass panel

   Apply a heat gun or heated iOpener around the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup to the back cover

   Place a suction handle near the bottom edge of the rear panel. Press down firmly to create a seal.

   Slice through the rear cover adhesive

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick. Slide the pick along all sides to separate the adhesive.

   Lift and remove the rear glass

   Gently lift the rear cover off the frame. Set it aside in a safe, clean area.

   Unscrew the lower speaker housing

   Use a precision Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower speaker assembly.

   Pry up the lower speaker housing

   Insert a flat plastic spudger beneath the edge of the speaker module and pry gently to unclip and remove it.

   Disconnect the main interconnect flex cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pop the bottom end of the main ribbon cable off the sub-board connector.

    Disconnect the coaxial antenna cables

    Carefully pry up the small coaxial antenna connectors from the sub-board using blunt tweezers.

    Pry out the primary microphone sub-board

    Insert a spudger under the sub-board that houses the primary microphone. Carefully pry it up from the chassis adhesive.

    Position the new microphone sub-board

    Align the replacement sub-board into the lower recess of the frame. Press down lightly to seat it flush.

    Reconnect the antenna and interconnect cables

    Snap the coaxial connectors back into place using tweezers, then press the flex cable connector onto the new sub-board.

    Reinstall the lower speaker assembly

    Set the speaker housing back over the daughterboard and press down to snap it in. Replace and tighten all retaining screws.

    Apply replacement rear adhesive

    Clean the old adhesive from the frame perimeter with isopropyl alcohol, then line up and lay down new pre-cut adhesive strips.

    Press the rear glass back into place

    Align the back cover over the phone and press down firmly around the perimeter to seal the device.
