   Power off device and remove SIM tray

   Turn off your Moto Edge 5G completely. Insert a SIM eject tool into the tray hole on the bottom frame to pop out the SIM card tray.

   Heat edges of the rear panel

   Use a heat gun or hairdryer on low setting to heat the outer edges of the rear glass for 2-3 minutes. This softens the factory adhesive holding the panel.

   Attach suction cup near bottom edge

   Press a heavy-duty suction cup onto the lower third of the rear glass. Pull upward firmly to create a tiny gap between the glass and metal frame.

   Insert opening pick into seam

   Slide a plastic opening pick directly into the gap created by the suction cup. Do not insert the pick deeper than 3mm to avoid damaging internal components.

   Slice rear panel perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick carefully along all four edges of the phone to cut through the remaining adhesive. Reapply heat if the pick meets heavy resistance.

   Lift and remove rear glass cover

   Gently lift the rear glass panel away from the chassis. Set the panel aside on a clean, soft surface.

   Unscrew lower speaker enclosure

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the plastic speaker cover over the bottom daughterboard.

   Remove speaker enclosure from chassis

   Insert a spudger under the edge of the speaker assembly and pry upward to release it. Remove the speaker module from the phone.

   Disconnect battery press connector

   Use the flat edge of a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex cable straight up from its motherboard socket. This cuts power to prevent short circuits.

    Disconnect main interconnect flex cable

    Pry up the press connector for the main extension cable attached to the top of the charging port board.

    Disconnect white antenna coaxial cable

    Use precision tweezers to grip the metal head of the white antenna cable and gently lift it straight off the sub-board.

    Disconnect black antenna coaxial cable

    Grip the metal connector head of the black antenna cable with tweezers and unclip it from the daughterboard.

    Pry up old charging port sub-board

    Insert a flat spudger under the corner of the charging port sub-board and lift it out of its recessed housing.

    Set new charging port sub-board in place

    Position the replacement sub-board into the lower housing, pressing gently until it sits flush against the frame.

    Reconnect antenna coaxial cables

    Align the white and black antenna snap connectors over their respective board sockets and press down firmly until they click into place.

    Reconnect main interconnect flex cable

    Align the main ribbon press connector over its socket on the new daughterboard and press firmly down until secure.

    Reconnect battery cable to motherboard

    Press the battery cable connector straight down into its motherboard socket until it snaps shut.

    Reinstall speaker enclosure and screws

    Place the lower speaker assembly back onto the bottom section and tighten the Phillips #00 screws to hold it down.

    Clean residual adhesive from frame

    Dampen a lint-free cloth with 99% isopropyl alcohol and wipe away old adhesive remnants from the phone chassis perimeter.

    Apply new rear cover adhesive

    Peel the backing off new custom-cut adhesive strips and apply them along the rim of the phone body.

    Press rear cover onto housing

    Align the rear glass with the phone frame and press down firmly around all edges to seal the adhesive.

    Reinsert SIM card tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the bottom frame until flush with the device.
