   Power off device and eject SIM tray

   Press and hold the power button to turn off the phone completely. Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the bottom edge to remove the SIM card tray.

   Heat rear cover edges

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the edges of the rear panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Create opening gap

   Attach a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull up firmly. Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap created between the panel and frame.

   Slice back cover adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around all four sides of the phone to cut through the perimeter tape. Keep the pick depth shallow to avoid snagging internal components.

   Remove back cover

   Gently lift the back cover away from the body once the adhesive is fully separated. Set the back panel aside in a clean location.

   Unscrew lower speaker assembly

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing. Store the screws in a secure tray.

   Remove loudspeaker housing

   Pry up the edges of the loudspeaker housing using a spudger. Lift the housing out of the phone chassis.

   Disconnect battery cable

   Locate the battery flex cable connector near the main motherboard. Use a plastic spudger to pop the connector straight up and disconnect power.

   Disconnect main interconnect cable

   Use the spudger to pry the main interconnect flex connector off the bottom sub-board assembly.

    Disconnect antenna coaxial cables

    Grasp the head of the antenna cables with fine tweezers and pull straight up to disconnect them from the sub-board. Handle the tiny connectors carefully.

    Unscrew microphone sub-board

    Remove the remaining Phillips screws holding the daughterboard containing the primary microphone to the frame.

    Pry out microphone sub-board

    Insert a spudger under the edge of the sub-board and lift it out from the frame. Inspect the rubber microphone seal attached to the board.

    Clean frame microphone channel

    Check the microphone opening in the frame for dirt or adhesive blockages. Clean the acoustic channel using isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.

    Set replacement sub-board in place

    Align the new sub-board equipped with the replacement microphone into the lower frame cutout. Press down lightly until it rests flush.

    Secure sub-board screws

    Replace and tighten the Phillips screws on the sub-board to secure it tightly to the device housing.

    Reconnect flex and antenna cables

    Snap the antenna coax cables and main interconnect flex cable back onto their sub-board sockets. Reconnect the battery flex cable last.

    Reinstall loudspeaker housing

    Position the loudspeaker housing over the lower sub-board section and press down. Fasten all speaker screws using your Phillips screwdriver.

    Apply adhesive and seal device

    Apply pre-cut replacement adhesive tape along the frame perimeter. Press the rear cover down tightly along the edges, then reinsert the SIM tray.
