Step-by-step

Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the phone.

Remove the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the bottom of the phone to eject the SIM tray.

Heat the back cover
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on medium heat for two minutes around the edges of the back panel to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull up firmly to create a small gap.

Slice the edge adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it around the perimeter to cut through the adhesive.

Lift off the back panel
1 minGently lift the back panel off the phone body and set it aside.

Unscrew the motherboard cover

2 minUse fine tweezers to gently unhook and lift out the metal bracket holding the power button switch inside the frame.

Peel off the damaged power button flex cable
3 minSlide a thin plastic pick under the power button flex cable to separate its light adhesive from the inner frame.

Position the new power button flex cable
2 minAlign the replacement power button flex cable in the frame slot and press gently so its adhesive backing secures it.

Reinstall the button retaining bracket
2 minPlace the metal retaining bracket over the new power button switch and press until it snaps into place.

Attach the button flex cable connector
1 minAlign and press the flex cable connector firmly onto the motherboard socket until you hear a click.

Reconnect the battery cable
1 minAlign and press the battery connector straight down into its socket on the motherboard.

Reattach the motherboard shield

3 minPlace pre-cut adhesive strips along the perimeter frame where the back cover sits.

Seal the rear panel
2 minAlign the back cover over the frame and press firmly along all edges to seat the adhesive.
