   Power down the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Remove the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the bottom edge. Push firmly to eject the tray and set it aside.

   Heat the back cover

   Apply a heat gun or heated pad to the edges of the rear panel for two to three minutes. This softens the strong adhesive holding the plastic back cover.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower third of the rear panel and press down firmly to create a seal. Pull up gently on the suction cup handle to create a small gap.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a thin opening pick into the seam created between the frame and the back panel. Take care not to insert it deeper than 3 mm to avoid damaging internal components.

   Slice through the adhesive perimeter

   Slide the pick continuously around all four edges of the back panel to slice through the adhesive. Reapply heat if the pick meets heavy resistance.

   Lift and remove the back cover

   Gently lift the back cover off the chassis once all perimeter adhesive is sliced. Set the back panel aside in a clean area.

   Unscrew the upper motherboard shield

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper plastic protective bracket and camera bezel frame.

   Pry up the motherboard shield

   Insert the tip of a spudger under the edge of the plastic motherboard cover and carefully unclip it. Lift the shield away from the device.

    Disconnect the battery press connector

    Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pop the battery flex cable straight up from its motherboard socket. This cuts power to the device to prevent short circuits.

    Disconnect the main interconnect cable

    Pry up the interconnect flex cable that runs over the battery. Gently bend it out of the way to clear access to the battery pack.

    Apply adhesive remover around the battery

    Dispense a few drops of high-grade isopropyl alcohol or battery adhesive remover around the edges of the battery. Allow it to sit for two minutes to weaken the glue.

    Lever the battery from the chassis

    Insert a flat plastic opening card underneath the battery from the side. Slowly pry upward to break the remaining adhesive bond without bending the battery.

    Lift out the old battery

    Grasp the freed battery pack and lift it completely out of the phone frame. Dispose of or recycle the degraded battery according to local electronic waste guidelines.

    Clean the battery compartment

    Use a lint-free cloth soaked in isopropyl alcohol to scrape away residual glue from the metal frame recess. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before reinstalling.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Peel the protective backing off new battery adhesive strips and lay them flat inside the battery well. Press down to adhere them to the frame, then peel the top liner.

    Set the new battery in place

    Align the replacement battery with the compartment and lower it gently onto the adhesive strips. Press down lightly across the surface to secure it.

    Reconnect flex cables

    Align and snap the main interconnect flex cable and the battery press connector back into their respective motherboard sockets.

    Reinstall the motherboard shield

    Place the upper plastic shield back over the motherboard and press down until it snaps into place. Reinsert and tighten all Phillips #00 screws firmly.

    Reseal and press the back cover

    Apply fresh back cover adhesive strips around the rim of the frame, align the rear cover, and press firmly along the edges to seal the device.
