Step-by-step

Power off the device

3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower speaker housing.

Pry up the speaker module
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the speaker housing and pry it up out of the phone frame.

Disconnect the main flex cable
2 minUse a spudger to pry up the main interconnect ribbon cable connector from the daughterboard.

Disconnect the antenna cables
2 minGently unclip the coaxial antenna cables from their headers on the daughterboard using tweezers.

Remove the old microphone daughterboard
2 minPry up the daughterboard containing the faulty primary microphone and remove it from the chassis.

Position the new microphone board
2 minAlign and press the replacement daughterboard into the lower chassis cavity.

Reconnect the antenna cables
2 minSnap the coaxial antenna cables firmly back onto their corresponding connectors on the new board.

Reconnect the main flex cable
2 minAlign the main interconnect ribbon connector over the daughterboard press header and snap it into place.

Reinstall the speaker module
3 minPlace the lower speaker assembly back into position and secure it using the Phillips screws.

Reseal the rear cover
3 minApply fresh pre-cut adhesive strips along the frame perimeter and press the rear cover firmly into place.
