Step-by-step

Remove the Base Stand
2 minTurn the bottom screw counterclockwise to release the stand, then slide the stand off the console chassis.

Detach the Side Panels
3 minLift the rear corner of each white panel upward while pushing toward the bottom edge of the console to unclip them.

Unscrew the Fan Cover Trim
3 minRemove the four T8 Security Torx screws securing the fan intake cover and lift the plastic trim away.

Disconnect and Lift Out the Fan
4 minUnplug the fan power connector from the motherboard using tweezers, then pull the fan straight out.

Remove Upper Housing Screws
5 minUnscrew all designated T8 Security Torx screws holding the main black plastic frame in place.

6 minRemove the array of Phillips #0 screws holding the upper metal EMI shield to the board assembly.

Extract the Motherboard Assembly

Apply Flux to HDMI Port Pins
3 minApply a liberal amount of soldering flux across all solder legs and anchor pads of the damaged HDMI port.

Desolder the Damaged HDMI Port
8 minHeat the underside of the port pins with a hot air rework station at 400°C until the solder melts, then lift the port off with tweezers.

Clean Motherboard Solder Pads
5 minUse copper desoldering wick and a soldering iron to clear residual solder from all pin holes, then clean with isopropyl alcohol.

Solder the New HDMI Port
10 minAlign the new HDMI port, tack down the anchor legs first, and carefully solder each of the signal pins with a fine-tip soldering iron.

Inspect and Clean Solder Joints
4 minClean remaining flux with isopropyl alcohol and inspect each pin under magnification to ensure no bridges or cold joints exist.
