Step-by-step

Power off device and eject card
1 minTurn off the Nintendo Switch Lite completely by holding the power button and selecting Power Options > Turn Off. Remove the microSD card from the slot at the bottom.

Remove rear Tri-point screws
2 minUse a Y00 Tri-point screwdriver to remove the four 6.3 mm screws located on the back panel.

Remove perimeter Phillips screws
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove two screws on the bottom edge, one screw on the top edge, and one screw from the microSD card slot area.

Unclip back shell
2 minInsert a plastic spudger into the seam along the bottom edge and slide it around the perimeter to release the plastic clips securing the rear housing.

Unscrew metal shield plate
2 minRemove the four Phillips #00 screws securing the aluminum shield plate to the inner frame.

Remove shield plate
1 minGently lift the metal shield plate straight up off the console to expose the internal circuit boards.

Disconnect battery
1 minPry the battery connector straight up out of its socket on the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

Unscrew heat sink
2 minRemove the three Phillips #00 screws holding the copper heat sink assembly over the CPU.

Remove heat sink
1 minCarefully lift the copper heat sink off the motherboard, taking care not to bend the copper pipe.

Disconnect power control ribbon
2 minUse precision tweezers to flip up the locking flap on the ZIF connector for the power button flex cable, then slide the cable out.

Unscrew power daughterboard
2 minRemove the two Phillips #00 screws holding the power management board to the left frame assembly.

Remove power daughterboard
1 minDisconnect the main interconnect cable and lift the power daughterboard out of the chassis.

Position replacement power board
2 minSet the new power daughterboard into the frame, aligning the mounting holes with the chassis screw posts.

Secure replacement board
2 minReinstall the two Phillips #00 screws to fasten the replacement board, then lock the main interconnect ribbon into its connector.

Reapply thermal compound
3 minClean off old thermal paste with isopropyl alcohol, then apply a small dot of new thermal paste onto the chip surface before reinstalling the heat sink.

Reassemble heat sink and enclosure
4 minReconnect the battery, replace the metal shield plate, snap the back cover in place, and reinsert all external screws.
