Power off the console
1 minEnsure the Nintendo Switch Lite is powered off completely. Do not perform this repair while the console is in Sleep Mode.

Eject the MicroSD card
1 minOpen the MicroSD card slot cover on the bottom edge. Press down on the MicroSD card until it clicks, then pull it out of the slot.

Remove the rear tri-point screws
2 minUse a Y00 tri-point screwdriver to remove the four corner screws on the back cover. Store them in a safe place.

Remove the top edge screws
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the two screws located on the top edge of the console.

Remove the bottom edge screws
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the two screws located on the bottom edge.

Remove the MicroSD bay screw
1 minLocate the single Phillips #00 screw inside the MicroSD card slot recess and remove it.

Unsnap the rear cover
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the seam between the front and rear housing. Pry gently around the perimeter to release the plastic clips.

Remove the rear housing
1 minCarefully lift the rear housing straight up off the console body. Set the housing aside.

Unscrew the metal shield
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the four silver screws securing the metal shield plate.

Remove the metal shield
1 minLift the metal shield plate away from the internal components to expose the battery and motherboard.

Disconnect the battery cable
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up out of its motherboard socket. Do not pull directly on the wires.

Apply adhesive remover
2 minApply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol around the edges of the battery. Wait two minutes for the alcohol to soften the adhesive.

Pry up the battery
4 minInsert a plastic spudger or card beneath the bottom edge of the battery. Slowly lever upwards to release it from the chassis.

Remove the old battery
1 minLift the spent battery out of its recess. Set it aside for proper lithium-ion recycling.

Clean the battery compartment
2 minWipe down the battery recess using a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol to clean away remaining adhesive residue.

Apply new adhesive strips
2 minPeel the protective backing off new battery adhesive strips and press them into place inside the battery compartment.

Install the new battery
2 minAlign the replacement battery in the recess and press down firmly to secure it to the fresh adhesive.

Reconnect the battery cable
1 minAlign the battery plug over its motherboard socket and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

Position the metal shield
1 minLower the metal shield plate back over the motherboard, matching up all corresponding screw holes.

Secure the metal shield
2 minReinstall and tighten the four Phillips #00 screws on the metal shield plate.

Attach the rear cover
2 minAlign the rear housing over the console frame and press down firmly around the edges to snap the clips shut.

Reinstall the bottom edge screws
1 minThread and tighten the two Phillips #00 screws into the bottom edge of the device.

Reinstall the MicroSD bay screw
1 minReplace and tighten the single Phillips #00 screw inside the MicroSD card slot.

Secure the rear tri-point screws
2 minReinstall the four Y00 tri-point screws into the rear corners of the back cover.

Reinsert the MicroSD card
1 minSlide the MicroSD card back into its slot until it clicks into place, then close the rubber slot cover.
