Step-by-step

Turn Off Console
1 minCompletely power off the console and disconnect all attached cables and accessories. Ensure the device is not in sleep mode.

Remove Back Plate Screws
2 minUse a Tri-point Y00 screwdriver to remove the four outer screws located on the back panel of the console.

Remove Perimeter Screws
3 minUnscrew the outer Phillips #00 screws from the top, bottom, and controller rail sides of the housing.

Pry Off Back Shell
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the seam along the edge and gently slide it around to release the plastic clips.

Lift Back Cover
1 minCarefully separate the back cover from the main chassis and set it aside.

Remove MicroSD Bracket Screws
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the single screw holding the MicroSD card reader reader in place.

Disconnect Card Reader
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the MicroSD reader connector straight up from the motherboard.

Remove Shield Plate Screws
3 minRemove the six Phillips screws securing the aluminum metal thermal shield to the internal chassis.

Remove Thermal Shield
2 minLift the aluminum shield off the console, taking care not to smear the exposed thermal compound.

Disconnect Battery
2 minInsert a plastic spudger beneath the battery power connector and pry it straight up to cut power to the board.

Unscrew Power Delivery Board
3 minRemove the three Phillips screws securing the power supply and power routing board to the frame.

Disconnect Power Ribbon Cable
2 minFlip up the locking tab on the ZIF connector using tweezers, then pull the ribbon cable free.

Remove Power Board
2 minLift the damaged power delivery board out of the main housing assembly.

Install Replacement Power Board
4 minAlign the new power board into the housing slot, reconnect the ZIF ribbon cable, and secure the screws.
