iPhone Won't Turn On

Only a battery icon, no Apple logo, or totally unresponsive — what to try and what usually fails.

Symptoms

  • No response to power button
  • Battery icon only when plugged in
  • Gets warm but never boots

Quick troubleshooting

  1. Step 1

    Charge 30–60 minutes uninterrupted

Leave it on a known-good cable. Don't unplug every few minutes.

  2. Step 2

    Force restart while charging

Vol up, vol down, hold side. Give it a full minute.

  3. Step 3

Try another cable / brick / wireless

Eliminate accessories before assuming the phone is dead.

Likely causes

  • Deeply discharged battery
  • Failed battery
  • Charging path failure
  • Short from liquid damage
  • Logic board power rails

If it never shows an Apple logo after a long charge, it's usually battery, port, or board — not something Settings will fix. Bring it in for diagnostics.
