iPhone Face ID Not Working

Quick troubleshooting

Step 1
Restart and re-enroll Face ID
Settings → Face ID & Passcode. If it won't enroll, it's hardware.
Step 2
Check for screen protector / case blocking sensors
Remove anything covering the notch/Dynamic Island area.

Likely causes

TrueDepth cable damage
Dot projector / flood illuminator fault
Improper prior screen transfer
Software / reset needed (less common)

Face ID repairs are specialized. Cheap screen jobs that don't transfer the original parts correctly are a top reason it dies after “repair.” We diagnose before promising a fix.
