DIY vs professional repair

Fixing a disconnected internal antenna cable or replacing a lower daughterboard is well within the scope of a home DIYer equipped with standard precision drivers and spudgers. If an internal coax cable simply came unclipped during a previous repair, re-seating it costs nothing and takes under twenty minutes.

However, if the failure is tied directly to the Baseband IC chip on the main logic board, standard modular part replacements won't fix it.
