Dropped Phone Screen Black

What's going on

Even if the top glass doesn't crack, the glass-thin OLED layer beneath can easily fracture or disconnect internally. When this happens, the phone continues running normally in the background—receiving messages, firing alarms, and processing touches—while displaying absolutely nothing on screen.
