   Power down device

   Turn off the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 immediately to prevent active electrical short circuits. Do not plug in a charger under any circumstances.

   Eject SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the side frame. Push firmly to pop out the SIM tray and remove it completely.

   Heat outer back panel

   Apply heat to the outer back glass panel using a heat gun set to low for about two minutes. Soften the factory adhesive without overheating the internal battery.

   Slice back cover adhesive

   Attach a suction cup to the outer glass and pull upward to create a slight gap. Insert a thin opening pick and slide it around the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.

   Remove outer back panel

   Gently lift the back glass panel off the chassis. Set it aside on a clean microfiber cloth.

   Unscrew wireless coil bracket

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the midframe wireless charging coil. Carefully lift and peel the coil assembly away from the frame.

   Disconnect primary battery connector

   Locate the primary battery press connector on the motherboard. Use a plastic spudger to pry it straight up and disconnect it immediately.

   Disconnect secondary battery connector

   Locate the secondary battery flex cable on the lower motherboard section. Pry the connector up with the flat end of a plastic spudger to completely kill power to the board.

   Remove main motherboard bracket

   Unscrew the remaining Phillips screws holding the motherboard shield in place. Lift the metal bracket off using precision tweezers.

    Disconnect mainboard interconnect cables

    Disconnect the flex cables for the screen, cameras, and lower daughterboard from the mainboard. Pry straight up on each connector with a plastic spudger.

    Extract motherboard from frame

    Remove the mounting screws holding the main logic board. Gently pry the motherboard out of the frame without bending the PCB.

    Clean motherboard with isopropyl alcohol

    Submerge the motherboard in a shallow dish filled with 99% isopropyl alcohol. Scrub off corrosion and water mineral deposits using a soft anti-static brush.

    Blow dry components with compressed air

    Use short bursts of compressed air to blow out alcohol and trapped moisture from beneath micro-chips and connectors. Hold the can upright to prevent liquid discharge.

    Desiccate remaining moisture

    Place the cleaned motherboard and frame into a sealed container filled with silica gel packs. Leave the components in the container for at least two hours to absorb moisture.

    Inspect logic board under magnification

    Examine the board under a magnifying glass for remaining corrosion or blown surface-mount components. Repeat alcohol cleaning if white residue remains.

    Reinstall motherboard and secure interconnects

    Place the dried motherboard back into the frame and secure it with screws. Align and press down all display and camera flex connectors until they snap into place.

    Reconnect batteries and secure bracket

    Reconnect the secondary and primary battery press connectors to the board. Reinstall the wireless charging coil bracket and tighten all securing screws.

    Apply adhesive and seal back panel

    Clean remaining old adhesive off the frame with isopropyl alcohol. Apply a new pre-cut adhesive strip, align the back cover, and press firmly around all edges to seal.
