   Power off the device

   Press and hold the Side and Volume Down buttons, then tap Power Off. Ensure the phone is completely shut down before starting.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray. Push firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

   Heat the back glass

   Apply a warm iOpener or heat gun around the perimeter of the rear glass panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach suction handle

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the rear glass panel and pull up gently to create a slight gap.

   Insert opening pick

   Slide an opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Keep insertion under 3 mm to avoid internal damage.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick along all edges of the rear glass to cut through the perimeter adhesive gasket.

   Remove the back glass

   Carefully lift the rear glass off the frame and set it aside in a safe, dust-free area.

   Unscrew lower midframe cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the five screws securing the lower speaker midframe housing.

   Remove lower speaker assembly

   Pry gently under the edge of the speaker cover with a spudger to unclip it from the lower frame.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery connector straight up from the motherboard socket using a plastic spudger to prevent shorts.

    Disconnect main interconnect cable

    Use a spudger to pop the lower end of the main flex ribbon off the USB-C daughterboard.

    Disconnect display sub-flex cable

    Pry up the secondary display/sub-board flex cable press connector on the USB-C daughterboard.

    Remove daughterboard screws

    Remove the three Phillips #00 screws anchoring the USB-C charging board to the inner chassis.

    Pry up the USB-C board

    Insert a spudger beneath the daughterboard edge and gently lever it up from the light frame adhesive.

    Transfer microphone gasket

    Use tweezers to pull the rubber microphone sleeve off the old board and slide it onto the replacement board.

    Position new charging board

    Align the replacement USB-C daughterboard with the chassis posts and seat the port into its frame cutout.

    Secure daughterboard screws

    Reinstall the three Phillips #00 screws to firmly fasten the new daughterboard down.

    Reconnect ribbon cables

    Press the display sub-flex and main interconnect press connectors down onto the new board until they snap shut.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Snap the battery press connector back onto its socket on the motherboard.

    Reinstall lower speaker assembly

    Place the lower speaker cover into position and push down until the perimeter clips snap into place.

    Fasten lower cover screws

    Drive the five Phillips #00 screws back into the lower speaker cover to secure it.

    Apply new glass adhesive

    Clean the outer frame with isopropyl alcohol, then lay down a pre-cut replacement adhesive strip.

    Seal the rear glass

    Align the back glass panel over the frame and press firmly along all edges to seat the adhesive seal.

    Reinsert SIM card tray

    Push the SIM card tray back into its slot on the frame until it rests completely flush.
