   Use a heat gun on low heat for 2 minutes around the perimeter of the front outer display. Avoid overheating to prevent frame deformation.

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the outer screen assembly. Pull up gently on the ring to create a slight gap between the glass and bezel.

   Insert opening pick

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created between the outer glass and the bezel. Keep the pick inserted shallowly to protect internal components.

   Slice bottom adhesive

   Slide the opening pick carefully along the bottom edge of the outer screen to cut through the adhesive layer. Leave the pick in place to prevent the adhesive from re-sealing.

   Insert a second opening pick and slide it slowly along the right side of the outer display frame. Sever all sticky residue along the side rail.

   Move an opening pick across the top edge of the screen assembly. Take extra care around the top earpiece speaker cutout.

   Slide the pick along the left hinge side of the display glass until the screen separates freely. Verify that all four sides are completely detached.

   Lift the outer display

   Gently swing the outer screen open from the right edge toward the hinge like a book cover. Do not pull the display away completely yet, as the ribbon cable is still attached.

    Remove the connector bracket

    Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the single screw securing the metal display connector shield. Lift the bracket away with fine-tip tweezers.

    Disconnect outer display flex cable

    Connect the new screen flex cable
