   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power and volume down buttons, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole along the top edge of the frame. Push inward firmly to pop out the SIM tray and remove it.

   Heat the upper back panel

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to the edges of the upper glass cover for two minutes. This softens the tough adhesive holding the rear glass.

   Slice the upper panel adhesive

   Attach a suction cup near the bottom edge of the upper glass and pull gently to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening pick and slide it around the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.

   Remove the upper rear panel

   Lift the upper glass panel free from the frame and place it safely aside. Clean away residual adhesive along the frame housing using isopropyl alcohol.

   Unscrew the top motherboard bracket

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the ten screws securing the upper motherboard shield and wireless charging coil module.

   Remove the upper motherboard shield

   Insert the tip of a spudger beneath the edge of the shield and pry it upward. Lift the plastic cover and wireless coil module out of the device.

   Disconnect the upper battery cable

   Use the edge of a plastic spudger to detach the main battery flex connector from the motherboard. Detaching power prevents short circuits during repair.

   Disconnect the power button flex cable

   Locate the power button and fingerprint reader press connector on the upper-right section of the motherboard. Snap the connector straight up with a plastic spudger.

    Unscrew the power button bracket

    Remove the single Phillips #000 screw holding the internal metal retention bracket over the power button module.

    Remove the power button bracket

    Use fine tweezers to lift the small metal retention bracket off the internal frame. Keep it organized for reassembly.

    Extract the power button assembly

    Gently push the power button module from the exterior frame into the interior space using a spudger. Lift the sensor and flex assembly out using tweezers.

    Insert the new power button assembly

    Guide the new power button and fingerprint sensor module into the frame slot from the inside. Ensure the external key sits flush with the outer side rail.

    Reinstall the power button bracket

    Place the metal retention bracket back over the new power button assembly inside the frame. Thread and tighten the single Phillips #000 screw until snug.

    Reconnect the power button flex cable

    Align the power button flex cable connector over its motherboard socket. Press down gently until it snaps firmly into place.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Position the battery press connector over its motherboard terminal and push down lightly to reconnect internal power.
