   Power off the smartphone

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Heat the lower back panel

   Apply a heat gun set to low temperature around the edges of the lower back glass for 2 minutes. This softens the factory adhesive holding the panel.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower back glass near the bottom edge. Pull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap along the seam.

   Insert a plastic opening pick

   Push an opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slice carefully around the bottom and side perimeter to cut through the adhesive.

   Remove the lower back glass

   Lift the lower back panel straight off the frame once all adhesive is severed. Set the glass panel aside in a safe location.

   Unscrew the speaker housing

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower loudspeaker bracket. Keep track of each screw for reassembly.

   Remove the speaker bracket

   Insert the flat end of a spudger under the plastic loudspeaker housing. Gently pry it up to unclip and remove it from the lower chassis.

   Disconnect the battery flex cable

   Locate the battery connector flex cable on the sub-board assembly. Use a plastic spudger to pry the connector straight up from its socket.

   Disconnect the main interconnect flex

   Pry up the main ribbon flex cable connector from the lower sub-board using your spudger tool. Fold the flex back slightly out of the way.

    Unclip the antenna coaxial cables

    Use precision tweezers to carefully pop off the white and black RF coaxial antenna connectors from the daughterboard.

    Pry out the faulty microphone sub-board

    Lever the plastic spudger under the bottom daughterboard containing the primary microphone. Carefully lift the board out of the phone frame.

    Insert the replacement microphone sub-board

    Align the new microphone daughterboard with the alignment pegs in the bottom recess. Press down gently until it sits completely flush.

    Reconnect antenna coaxial cables

    Position the RF antenna connectors over their sub-board sockets. Press straight down with tweezers until they click firmly into place.

    Snap the main interconnect flex back on

    Align the main ribbon connector directly above its socket on the lower sub-board. Press down firmly until you feel it press into place.

    Reconnect the battery flex cable

    Press the battery cable press-connector back into its motherboard socket until it seats completely.

    Reinstall the speaker housing

    Position the loudspeaker housing back over the bottom daughterboard assembly. Press down on the edges until the plastic clips snap shut.

    Fasten the housing screws

    Drive the Phillips #000 screws back into the loudspeaker bracket until snug. Avoid overtightening to prevent stripping the threads.

    Clean residual adhesive

    Scrape away remaining glue along the frame edges with a plastic pick. Wipe the perimeter using a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Seal the lower back cover

    Apply a new pre-cut adhesive gasket to the frame edges. Align the lower back glass panel and press firmly around all borders to secure it.
