Step-by-step

Power off the device

2 minRemove the small Phillips screw holding the internal power button metal retaining bracket.

Extract damaged power button
2 minUse fine tweezers to lift out the metal bracket and carefully pry the power button assembly out of the frame.

Insert new power button
2 minPosition the new power button and fingerprint sensor assembly into the side slot of the frame.

Secure retaining bracket
1 minPlace the metal retaining bracket back over the button and tighten the Phillips screw.

Reconnect power button cable
1 minPress the power button ribbon cable connector firmly onto its motherboard socket.

Reconnect top battery

Reinstall mainboard cover
3 minPlace the motherboard bracket in position and drive the Phillips #00 screws until snug.

Reconnect upper display flex

Apply fresh adhesive
3 minClean remaining glue with isopropyl alcohol, then stick precut adhesive strips to the upper frame perimeter.

Seal upper rear glass
2 minAlign the top rear glass panel over the frame and press down firmly around the edges to seal.
