Step-by-step

Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shutdown the phone.

Heat the lower back glass panel

Attach a suction handle

3 minRemove the six Phillips #00 screws holding the upper motherboard shield and speaker assembly in place.

2 minPry up the secondary top battery connector from its socket on the upper motherboard using a spudger.

Apply adhesive remover to the lower battery
3 minApply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol around the edges of the lower battery cell to weaken the adhesive underneath.

Remove the lower battery
4 minInsert a flat plastic card under the lower battery and gently lever it out of the chassis casing.

Remove the upper battery
4 minApply isopropyl alcohol around the top battery, then carefully pry it up using a flat spudger until it releases from the frame.
