   Power Off Phone

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Heat Lower Glass

   Apply heat to the bottom rear glass panel using a heat gun or iOpener for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the factory adhesive holding the back cover.

   Attach Suction Handle

   Press a suction cup onto the lower portion of the heated glass panel. Pull gently upward to create a subtle gap between the glass and frame.

   Slice Glass Adhesive

   Insert an opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Carefully slide the pick around the edges of the bottom glass to cut the adhesive.

   Remove Lower Back Cover

   Lift the lower glass panel off the device once all edges are freed. Set the glass panel aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew Speaker Bracket

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the six screws securing the lower speaker housing. Store the screws safely for reassembly.

   Remove Speaker Housing

   Insert a plastic spudger under the top edge of the speaker bracket and pry up gently. Remove the speaker bracket to expose the daughterboard.

   Disconnect Battery Cable

   Pry the lower battery connector straight up from its socket on the daughterboard using a plastic spudger. Disconnecting the power prevents electrical shorting.

   Disconnect Main Interconnect Flex

   Use your plastic spudger to detach the main ribbon flex connector from the charging port daughterboard. Pry straight up to avoid bending the pins.

    Disconnect Antenna Coaxial Cables

    Unclip the blue and white antenna coaxial cables from their sockets on the daughterboard using precision tweezers. Pry upward near the circular connector heads.

    Remove Board Retaining Screws

    Remove the two Phillips #00 screws holding the charging port sub-board to the lower chassis frame.

    Pry Up Charging Board

    Insert the flat edge of your spudger beneath the charging board assembly. Carefully pry upward to free the sub-board from light frame adhesive.

    Transfer Rubber Gaskets

    Use tweezers to peel the microphone rubber boot off the old board. Move the gasket onto the microphone port of the new replacement board.

    Insert New Charging Board

    Set the new charging port sub-board into the lower housing frame. Press down gently until it sits flush against the alignment pins.

    Secure Board Screws

    Reinstall the two Phillips #00 screws to anchor the new charging board firmly to the frame.

    Reconnect Antenna Cables

    Align the coaxial antenna connectors over their board sockets and press down firmly with tweezers until they click into place.

    Reconnect Main Interconnect Flex

    Align the main flex connector over its terminal on the daughterboard and press straight down until it snaps closed.

    Press the lower battery flex connector down into its socket on the board to restore power connections.

    Reinstall Speaker Housing

    Place the speaker assembly bracket over the lower board and press down to align it with the screw holes.

    Drive the six Phillips #00 screws back into the speaker housing until snug. Do not overtighten.

    Clean Adhesive Residue

    Clean remaining adhesive off the frame edges and back cover using lint-free pads dipped in isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply Replacement Adhesive

    Peel and align pre-cut rear cover adhesive strips onto the lower phone frame. Remove the protective film layer.

    Seal Rear Cover

    Align the lower rear glass panel over the frame and press firmly around all edges to bond the new adhesive seal.
