Step-by-step

Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the Power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device shuts down completely before proceeding.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject pin into the hole on the side of the housing. Push firmly to pop the SIM tray out and remove it.

Heat the rear glass panel

Attach the suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower section of the heated rear glass panel. Pull upward gently to create a tiny seam gap.

Insert an opening pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup at the bottom edge.

Slice the panel adhesive
4 minGuide the opening pick along the left, right, and top edges of the cover to slice through all adhesive bonds.

Remove the rear glass cover
2 minCarefully lift the rear glass off the phone chassis and set it aside on your work mat.

Unscrew the upper midframe shield
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the top midframe and wireless charging pad cover.

Lift out the midframe cover
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pry up and remove the midframe assembly containing the wireless charging coil.

Disconnect the battery connectors
2 minPry straight up on both battery press-fit connectors using the flat end of a spudger to safely remove power.

Unscrew the lower speaker housing
2 minRemove the Phillips screws retaining the bottom speaker module directly over the daughterboard.

Remove the bottom speaker assembly
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the speaker module and lift it up out of the phone body.

Disconnect the daughterboard interconnect flexes
3 minUse a spudger to detach the main flex cable connector and the antenna coaxial cables from the charging port board.

Unscrew the charging port board
2 minRemove the remaining Phillips screws securing the USB-C daughterboard to the bottom chassis frame.

Remove the faulty charging port board
2 minGently lift the daughterboard out of its seating using a pair of tweezers or a plastic opening tool.

Install the replacement charging port board
3 minPosition the new USB-C daughterboard into the lower housing aligner pins and press it flat into place.
