Power off the iPhone
1 minPress and hold the top power button, then slide the screen toggle to completely turn off the device.

Remove the bottom pentalobe screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.9 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning connector.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower portion of the display panel, positioning it directly above the Home button.

Pry open the bottom display edge
3 minPull up firmly on the suction cup while inserting a plastic opening pick into the seam above the headphone jack.

Unclip the Touch ID bracket
2 minGently lift the display only enough to access the Touch ID cable bracket, then pop off the metal bracket with tweezers.

Disconnect the Touch ID cable
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the Touch ID cable connector straight up from its socket.

Unscrew the battery bracket
2 minRemove the two Phillips #000 screws securing the metal battery connector bracket to the logic board.

Disconnect the battery
2 minRemove the metal battery bracket and pry the battery connector up from the logic board using a spudger.

Remove the display cable bracket
3 minUnscrew the four Phillips #000 screws holding the display cable bracket in the upper right section of the phone.

Disconnect the display assembly
3 minDisconnect the front camera, digitizer, and LCD flex cables from the logic board to free the display assembly.

Unscrew the vibrator motor bracket
2 minRemove the two Phillips #000 screws holding the vibrator assembly to the top right corner of the rear case.

Remove the old vibrator motor
2 minUse tweezers to lift the original vibrator motor out of the rear enclosure.

Install the new vibrator motor
2 minPlace the replacement vibrator motor into the top right housing, ensuring spring contacts align properly.

Secure the vibrator bracket
2 minPosition the metal bracket over the replacement motor and tighten the two Phillips #000 screws.
