When your AirPods case displays the wrong LED color, flashes erratically, or reports incorrect battery percentages to your iPhone, debris or firmware sync glitches are usually the culprit. Follow this step-by-step triage to fix indicator errors.

Step 1
Clean Internal and External Charging Contacts
Unplug the case and insert a dry cotton swab slightly dampened with 99% isopropyl alcohol into the bottom of each AirPod stem well. Gently rotate to remove pocket lint and black oxidation from the brass contacts. Clean the metal silver rings on the bottom of the AirPods stems as well before testing again.

Clear out the Main Charging Port
