   Turn off the tablet

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before starting.

   Remove the microSD tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or thin pin into the microSD card tray opening. Pull the tray completely out of the frame.

   Heat the rear cover seam

   Apply gentle heat along the back edge using a hair dryer or heat gun on low for 1 to 2 minutes. This softens the interior plastic retaining clips.

   Insert an opening pick

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap between the rear case and the display assembly. Twist gently to pop the first clip.

   Unclip the rear casing

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the tablet frame. Separate the rear plastic shell from the body of the device.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Locate the main battery connector on the motherboard. Pry the cable connector straight up using a plastic spudger.

   Inspect lower flex connectors

   Examine the lower display and touch sensor ribbon cables for dust or damage. Clean the contacts using isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab.

   Reseat the ribbon cables

   Open the ZIF retaining latch on the ribbon cable socket with a spudger. Reinsert the cable fully and press the latch closed.

   Reconnect the battery cable

   Align the battery plug over its socket on the motherboard. Press firmly until it snaps into place.

    Snap the rear casing into place

    Position the back cover over the tablet frame. Press along the perimeter until all plastic tabs snap securely shut.
