Step-by-step

Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole at the top of the phone. Push firmly to pop out the SIM and microSD card tray, then set it aside.

Heat Rear Glass
3 minApply heat evenly around the edges of the back glass using a heat gun for 2-3 minutes. Keep the heat source moving to avoid burning the display or battery.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear glass near the bottom edge. Ensure a strong seal against the surface.

Slice Bottom Adhesive
2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap at the bottom edge. Insert a plastic opening pick into the seam no further than 5mm.

Slice Perimeter Adhesive
4 minSlide the pick carefully around all sides of the rear glass to cut through the waterproof adhesive tape. Avoid prying near the right side of the camera lens where the fingerprint cable is located.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor Cable
2 minSlightly lift the left side of the back cover like a book. Use a spudger to pop the fingerprint reader press connector off the motherboard socket before fully removing the glass.

Unscrew Upper Antenna Shield
3 minRemove the eleven Phillips #000 screws holding the wireless charging pad and upper antenna frame to the body.

Remove Upper Antenna Shield
2 minInsert a spudger under the top right notch of the upper midframe and pry up gently. Peel the wireless charging coil pad off the battery and lift the assembly out.

Disconnect Battery Connector
1 minUse the edge of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up off its motherboard socket. This cuts power to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

Unscrew Lower Speaker Module
2 minRemove the five Phillips #000 screws securing the lower loudspeaker assembly over the microphone daughterboard.

Remove Loudspeaker Module
2 minInsert a spudger under the top edge of the speaker enclosure and lift upward to unclip it from the frame.

Disconnect Sub-board Cables
2 minDisconnect the main ribbon flex, display flex, and two antenna coax cables attached to the bottom charging/microphone sub-board using a spudger.

Remove Microphone Sub-board Assembly
3 minRemove the single Phillips #000 retaining screw on the sub-board. Gently pry up the board containing the primary microphone using a spudger and remove it.
