Step-by-step

Power Off the Phone
1 minPress and hold the Power button, then select Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Heat the Rear Glass
3 minApply a heat gun evenly around the outer edges of the rear glass for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the adhesive seal.

Attach the Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower third of the rear glass panel.

Insert an Opening Pick
2 minPull up gently on the suction cup and slide a plastic prying pick into the small gap created between the frame and glass.

Slice Rear Glass Adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic pick along all four edges of the back cover to cut through the perimeter adhesive.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
2 minGently lift the right edge of the rear cover and use tweezers to detach the fingerprint sensor flex cable from the motherboard.

Remove Rear Glass
1 minLift the rear glass completely off the phone frame and set it aside.

3 minRemove the eleven Phillips #00 screws securing the wireless charging coil and upper antenna housing.

1 minInsert a spudger beneath the loudspeaker module and lift it out of the chassis.

3 minApply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol into the gaps around the battery edges to loosen the factory adhesive.

Pry Out Old Battery
3 minInsert a wide plastic pry tool under the left side of the battery and slowly lever it out of the housing.

Clean Battery Bay
2 minWipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the battery well using a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

Apply New Battery Adhesive
2 minLay pre-cut battery adhesive strips into the clean battery bay and peel off the protective backing.

Install New Battery
2 minAlign the replacement battery into the frame and press down firmly to set it in the new adhesive.

Reinstall Upper Housing
3 minSnap the wireless charging assembly back onto the motherboard and tighten the eleven Phillips #00 screws.
