Step-by-step

Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the Power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before continuing.

Eject the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or thin paperclip into the hole at the top edge of the phone. Firmly press in to pop out and remove the tray.

Heat the Rear Glass
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer to warm all four edges of the back cover for 2 to 3 minutes. The glass should be hot to the touch to soften the inner adhesive.

Attach the Suction Cup
2 minApply a suction cup to the lower portion of the rear glass near the bottom edge. Pull upward firmly on the ring to create a small gap along the frame seam.

Insert an Opening Pick
2 minInsert the tip of a plastic prying tool or opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Do not insert the pick deeper than 5 mm to avoid internal components.

Slice the Bottom and Side Adhesive
3 minSlide the pick across the bottom seam and up the right side of the phone. Reapply heat if the adhesive hardens and offers resistance.

Slice the Left and Top Adhesive
3 minGuide the pick around the left edge and top seam to fully separate the perimeter adhesive. Keep the pick shallow near the top center to protect the fingerprint cable.

Disconnect the Fingerprint Sensor
2 minSlightly lift the right edge of the rear glass like opening a book cover. Use a flat spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor press connector straight up off the motherboard.

Remove the Damaged Back Glass
2 minLift the rear cover away from the chassis completely and set it aside. Carefully transfer the fingerprint sensor module to your new glass if it was not pre-installed.

Clean Old Adhesive from Frame
4 minDampen a microfiber cloth with isopropyl alcohol and wipe off all old adhesive residue from the aluminum perimeter frame. Ensure the surface is dry and free of debris.

Reconnect the Fingerprint Sensor Cable
2 minHold the replacement back cover near the phone chassis and align the fingerprint ribbon cable. Gently press the connector onto the motherboard until it snaps into place.

Seal the New Back Cover
3 minPeel away all protective film from the new cover's pre-applied adhesive. Carefully align the glass with the frame and press firmly along all edges to secure the seal.
