   Power off the device

   Press and hold the Power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Remove the rear cover

   Insert a plastic opening tool into the notch near the top of the phone. Pry the back cover up and lift it away from the body.

   Remove the battery

   Use your fingernail or a pry tool to lift the battery out of its recess from the bottom edge. Set the battery aside in a safe location.

   Eject the SIM and microSD cards

   Slide the SIM card and microSD card straight out of their respective slots. Store them safely during the repair.

   Unscrew the rear housing

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven screws around the perimeter of the internal rear housing. Keep the screws organized.

   Unsnap the rear frame

   Insert a plastic opening tool into the seam between the front glass assembly and the rear plastic frame. Pry around the perimeter to release the plastic clips.

   Disconnect the speaker flex cable

   Locate the speaker and earpiece flex connector near the top edge of the motherboard. Use a plastic spudger to gently pop the connector straight up.

   Disconnect the display flex cable

   Pry up the display flex cable press-fit connector on the right side of the main motherboard. Take care not to damage the surrounding SMD components.

   Disconnect the touch screen flex cable

   Pop the digitizer ribbon cable connector off its socket on the upper motherboard using a plastic spudger. Work gently to avoid tearing the delicate cable.

    Unclip the motherboard

    Gently lift the bottom edge of the motherboard upward away from the frame. Pivot the board out carefully without snagging any loose flex cables.

    Remove the faulty speaker assembly

    Use fine tweezers to lift the earpiece speaker module out of its recessed housing at the top of the display panel. Peel away any light adhesive holding it in place.

    Install the replacement speaker

    Place the new replacement speaker module into the top housing channel. Press down lightly to seat it flush against the frame.

    Reinstall the motherboard

    Align the top of the motherboard back into the frame while holding flex cables out of the way. Press the board flat until it snaps into the chassis clips.

    Reconnect all flex cables

    Align and press down on the display, touch screen, and speaker flex connectors onto their motherboard sockets. Ensure each connector snaps firmly into place.

    Reattach the rear frame

    Position the rear frame over the front display assembly. Press firmly around the edges until all plastic perimeter clips snap securely.

    Secure the rear housing screws

    Reinsert and tighten the seven Phillips #00 screws into the rear frame. Ensure they are snug without overtightening.

    Reinsert cards and battery

    Slide the SIM card and microSD card back into their slots. Align the battery contacts and press the battery flat into the compartment.

    Snap on the rear cover

    Align the rear cover over the back of the phone and press down along the edges until it snaps shut. Power on the device to test the replacement speaker.
