Step-by-step

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge and push firmly to pop it out.

Heat the back cover
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting to heat the outer edges of the rear panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull up gently to create a small gap.

Insert an opening pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created beneath the back panel.

Slice the perimeter adhesive
3 minSlide the pick carefully around all four edges of the back panel to separate the adhesive.

Lift the back cover carefully
2 minGently hinge the back panel open from the right side, taking care not to pull on the attached fingerprint sensor cable.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the fingerprint reader flex connector straight up from its socket.

Unscrew the loudspeaker housing
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the lower speaker assembly.

Pry up the loudspeaker assembly
2 minInsert a spudger under the notch of the loudspeaker housing and lift it up out of the phone frame.

Position the new loudspeaker
2 minSet the replacement loudspeaker module cleanly into the lower compartment of the frame.

Secure the loudspeaker screws
3 minReinstall and tighten the Phillips #00 screws into the loudspeaker module until snug.

Reconnect the fingerprint cable
2 minAlign the fingerprint sensor press connector over its motherboard socket and press down firmly until it snaps in.

Apply back cover adhesive
3 minClean away old adhesive residue and apply new pre-cut adhesive strips along the perimeter frame.

Reattach the back panel
2 minAlign the rear cover with the chassis and press firmly along all edges to seal the adhesive.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot until it sits flush with the phone body.
