Step-by-step

Remove the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray on the left side of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then pull it out completely.

Heat the rear panel
2 minApply heat around the edges of the back cover with a heat gun or hair dryer for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Apply suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower third of the rear glass panel and pull gently upward to create a small gap.

Slice perimeter adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it carefully along the edges to slice through the rear cover adhesive.

Disconnect fingerprint sensor
2 minCarefully hinge the back cover open slightly to reveal the fingerprint flex cable. Use a spudger to pop the connector straight off the motherboard.

Remove midframe screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic midframe housing to the phone chassis.

2 minSlide a thin spudger beneath the power button flex cable inside the button cavity to break the light adhesive holding it in place.

Position new power button flex
3 minSet the new power button flex cable into the frame cutout, aligning the tactile switch membrane accurately with the outer button cover.

Reinstall metal retaining bracket
2 minPlace the metal bracket back over the power button switch with tweezers and snap it into place to lock the switch.

Attach power button connector
1 minAlign the power button flex cable connector over its motherboard socket and press down firmly until it clicks.

Reconnect battery
1 minAlign the battery press connector over the socket on the motherboard and snap it back into place.

Reinstall midframe
