   Turn off the phone

   Press and hold the Power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the Moto G14.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone to release the SIM tray. Pull the tray completely out of the device.

   Heat the back cover

   Apply a warm iOpener or heat gun around the outer edges of the back panel for two minutes to soften the underlying adhesive.

   Slice the back panel adhesive

   Attach a suction cup to the lower back panel and pull up gently to create a small gap. Insert an opening pick and slide it around the perimeter to sever the adhesive.

   Lift off the back cover

   Carefully remove the back cover from the frame and set it aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew the lower speaker cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the bottom loudspeaker cover.

   Pry off the speaker cover

   Insert the flat end of a spudger beneath the loudspeaker assembly and gently lift it out of the chassis.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Unsnap the battery press connector from the mainboard using a plastic spudger to prevent electrical shorts.

   Disconnect the sub-board ribbon cable

   Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the main interconnect flex cable from the bottom sub-board.

    Disconnect the antenna cable

    Grasp the low-profile RF coaxial cable connector on the sub-board with precision tweezers and pop it straight up to disconnect.

    Remove the old microphone sub-board

    Insert a spudger under the bottom sub-board, which houses the primary microphone, and lift it out of the frame.

    Transfer the microphone gasket

    Use tweezers to peel the small rubber microphone acoustic gasket from the old sub-board and seat it onto the new microphone board.

    Install the new microphone sub-board

    Position the new microphone sub-board into its slot in the lower chassis and press down lightly to seat it.

    Reconnect the antenna cable

    Align the RF coaxial cable over its socket on the sub-board and press down gently with tweezers until it clicks into place.

    Reconnect the sub-board ribbon cable

    Align the interconnect flex connector over the sub-board socket and press firmly to reconnect it.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Press the battery connector firmly back into its matching socket on the mainboard.

    Reinstall the speaker cover

    Place the loudspeaker cover back over the sub-board area and press down to snap it into place.

    Secure the speaker screws

    Reinsert and tighten the Phillips #00 screws to hold the speaker cover firmly in position.

    Reattach the back panel

    Apply new pre-cut adhesive strips to the inner edges of the back panel, press it firmly onto the frame, and hold for 30 seconds.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Push the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left side of the phone until it sits flush.
