Step-by-step

Power off device
1 minTurn off your Motorola Moto G14 completely before starting the repair.

Eject SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left side of the phone and pull the tray out.

Heat back panel
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the edges of the rear cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull up gently to create a slight gap.

Insert opening pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap between the plastic back cover and the frame.

Slice rear adhesive
3 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the device to cut through the remaining adhesive.

Remove back panel
1 minLift the rear cover away from the phone body and set it aside.

Unscrew motherboard frame
3 minRemove the 11 Phillips #00 screws securing the upper motherboard shield.

Pry up motherboard shield
2 minInsert a flat spudger under the notch on the plastic motherboard frame and lift it off.

Disconnect battery cable
1 minUse the flat tip of a spudger to detach the battery press-connector from the motherboard.

Unscrew loudspeaker housing
2 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws holding the lower speaker module in place.

Remove loudspeaker housing
2 minPry up the speaker assembly from the bottom chassis using a spudger.

Disconnect interconnect flex cable
2 minDetach both ends of the main ribbon cable spanning over the battery and remove it.

Apply isopropyl alcohol
2 minApply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the battery edges to loosen the glue.

Peel adhesive pull-tabs
2 minLocate the clear adhesive pull-tabs at the top and bottom edges of the battery and unpeel their ends.

Pull battery adhesive strips
4 minSlowly pull the adhesive pull-tabs outward at a flat angle until they stretch out from under the battery.

Lever battery out
2 minInsert a plastic prying card underneath the battery to gently lift it out from the chassis.

Clean battery cavity
2 minWipe away any residual adhesive inside the frame using isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth.

Apply new battery adhesive
2 minAttach fresh battery adhesive strips onto the back side of the replacement battery.

Install new battery
2 minSet the new battery firmly into the housing and press the connector down to secure it.
