Step-by-step

Remove the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone to eject the tray. Pull the tray out completely.

Warm the Back Cover
2 minApply heat around the perimeter of the back cover for two minutes using a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive.

Attach the Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the back cover near the bottom edge.

Slice the Rear Adhesive
4 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert a plastic prying tool. Slide the tool along the edges to cut through the adhesive.

Pivot the Back Cover Open
2 minGently lift the back cover, hinging it toward the side. Do not pull it away completely yet, as the fingerprint sensor flex cable is still attached.

Disconnect the Fingerprint Cable
2 minUse a spudger to pry up and disconnect the fingerprint reader connector from the motherboard. Set the back cover aside.

Unscrew the Loudspeaker
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing.

Remove the Loudspeaker Assembly
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger beneath the loudspeaker cover and lift it out of the chassis.

Disconnect the Interconnect Cable
1 minUse a spudger to disconnect the main interconnect flex cable from the bottom sub-board.

Disconnect the Antenna Cable
2 minGently pry up the coaxial antenna connector from the lower daughterboard using fine tweezers.

Remove the Microphone Sub-Board
2 minPry up the sub-board containing the primary microphone using a spudger and lift it out of the frame.

Transfer the Rubber Microphone Seal
2 minUse tweezers to carefully transfer the small rubber gasket from the old microphone port to the new daughterboard.

Install the New Board
2 minSet the new microphone sub-board into its frame recess and press it gently into place.

Reconnect Internal Cables
3 minSnap the main interconnect flex cable and the antenna coaxial cable firmly back onto the new sub-board.
