Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole beside the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to eject the tray and pull it out.

Heat Back Cover Edges
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the edges of the back plastic panel for 1 to 2 minutes to loosen internal adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear panel. Pull gently upward to create a small gap along the seam.

Insert Opening Pick
1 minInsert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam created between the back panel and the frame.

Unclip Rear Cover
3 minSlide the opening pick around all sides of the phone to disengage the plastic retention clips.

Lift Rear Cover Partially
1 minGently swing open the back cover from the right edge. Do not pull it away completely as the fingerprint sensor cable is still connected.

Disconnect Fingerprint Reader
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint reader flex connector straight up from the motherboard.

Remove Rear Cover
1 minLift the rear plastic cover clear of the phone chassis and place it aside.

Unscrew Motherboard Cover
3 minUnscrew the thirteen Phillips #000 screws securing the plastic motherboard frame.

1 minUse tweezers or a spudger to lift the motherboard shield up and out of the phone.

1 minPry the battery press-connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

Apply Isopropyl Alcohol
2 minApply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol around the edges of the battery well.

2 minHold the back cover near the phone and reconnect the fingerprint sensor flex cable to the motherboard.

Snap Rear Cover Closed
2 minAlign the back cover with the chassis and press firmly around the perimeter until all clips snap shut.

Reinsert SIM Card Tray
