   Power off the device

   Press and hold the Power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or thin paperclip into the hole on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to pop out the tray and remove it completely.

   Heat the back panel

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the rear cover edges for two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

   Attach a suction handle

   Place a suction cup onto the lower third of the rear panel and press firmly to create a seal.

   Create an opening gap

   Pull up on the suction handle while inserting a thin opening pick into the seam between the rear cover and the frame.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide the opening pick along the bottom, left, and right edges of the phone to separate the back cover from the frame.

   Separate the rear panel

   Lift the rear panel away from the chassis carefully, ensuring no remaining adhesive straps grab the edges.

   Unscrew the motherboard shield

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper plastic motherboard cover.

   Remove the motherboard shield

   Insert a spudger beneath the edge of the plastic cover and gently pry up to unclip and remove it.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the flat edge of a spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard.

    Disconnect the main interconnect flex

    Pry up the press connector of the main display and sub-board interconnect cable to prevent damage while removing the battery.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol to adhesive

    Apply a few drops of 99% isopropyl alcohol around the perimeter of the battery to weaken the adhesive underneath.

    Pry out the battery

    Insert a plastic card or wide spudger under the bottom edge of the battery and carefully lift until it separates from the frame.

    Clean the battery well

    Wipe away any remaining old adhesive from the recess using a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply replacement battery adhesive

    Peel the backing off new battery adhesive strips, apply them to the housing well, and remove the top protective film.

    Install the new battery

    Align the replacement battery in the recess, press down firmly to set the adhesive, and reconnect the battery flex cable.
