Step-by-step

Power off device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select the power off option on the screen.

Eject SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray and push gently to release the tray.

Heat rear cover
2 minApply heat to the edges of the back cover for two minutes using a heat gun to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower section of the heated back cover.

Create opening gap
2 minPull up on the suction cup gently to create a slight gap between the rear cover and the frame.

Slice rear adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic prying tool into the gap and slide it along the perimeter to cut through the adhesive seal.

Remove rear panel
1 minLift the rear panel completely off the chassis and lay it aside on your workspace mat.

Unscrew loudspeaker housing
3 minRemove all Phillips #000 screws securing the lower loudspeaker assembly to the frame.

2 minGently pry up the head of the coaxial antenna cable from its socket using tweezers.

Unscrew daughterboard retaining screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips screw securing the microphone daughterboard to the lower housing.

Pry out daughterboard
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the daughterboard edge and lift it out to remove the damaged primary microphone module.

Insert new daughterboard
2 minAlign the replacement daughterboard with the lower frame recess and press it gently into place.

Fasten daughterboard screw
1 minThread and tighten the single Phillips retaining screw to secure the new daughterboard.

Reconnect antenna cable
2 minAlign the coaxial antenna head over its port on the daughterboard and press down until it clicks.

Attach interconnect flex cable
1 minPosition the flex cable connector over its socket on the daughterboard and press down firmly to connect it.

Reinstall loudspeaker housing
3 minPlace the loudspeaker assembly over the lower board and tighten the Phillips screws to hold it in place.

Reseal back cover
3 minApply fresh rear cover adhesive around the frame, align the rear cover, and press firmly along the edges to seal.
