   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left side of the phone. Push firmly to pop the tray out and remove it completely.

   Heat the rear cover edges

   Apply heat using a heat gun or hair dryer around the outer edges of the back panel for about 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup to the back cover

   Place the suction cup near the bottom edge of the back cover and pull upward firmly to create a small gap between the cover and the frame.

   Insert an opening pick under the rear cover edge

   Slide a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup at the bottom edge of the device.

   Slice through the rear cover adhesive

   Carefully slide the opening pick around the entire perimeter of the back panel to separate the glued edges.

   Lift the rear cover carefully

   Gently pivot the rear cover open from the left edge like a book, taking care not to strain the attached fingerprint sensor cable.

   Disconnect the fingerprint reader cable

   Use a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint reader press connector straight up off the motherboard.

   Unscrew the lower speaker cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing to the frame.

   Remove the loudspeaker assembly

   Insert a spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker assembly and carefully lift it out of the chassis.

    Disconnect the main flex cable

    Pry up the main interconnect flex cable connector attached to the upper section of the daughterboard using a spudger.

    Disconnect the antenna coaxial cable

    Use precision tweezers to carefully pry the antenna coaxial cable connector straight off the charging sub-board.

    Remove the sub-board mounting screw

    Unscrew the single Phillips #00 screw securing the charging port sub-board to the phone frame.

    Pry up the old sub-board

    Gently slide a spudger under the edge of the charging port sub-board and lift it out of the lower chassis recess.

    Position the new charging port sub-board

    Set the replacement sub-board into the frame recess, aligning the Type-C port and screw hole properly.

    Fasten the sub-board mounting screw

    Reinstall and tighten the Phillips #00 screw to lock the new sub-board into position.

    Reconnect the antenna coaxial cable

    Align the coaxial cable connector over its socket on the sub-board and press down gently until it clicks into place.

    Attach the main interconnect flex cable

    Press the main flex cable connector firmly onto the sub-board socket until you feel a distinct snap.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker assembly

    Lower the loudspeaker housing back over the sub-board and press it flat into the chassis.

    Secure the lower speaker cover screws

    Replace and tighten all the Phillips screws around the loudspeaker module.

    Connect the fingerprint reader cable

    Align and press the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector back onto its motherboard socket.

    Apply new rear cover adhesive

    Clean remaining old glue from the frame with isopropyl alcohol and lay down new custom adhesive strips.

    Reseal the back cover

    Align the back cover with the frame edges and press firmly around the entire perimeter to set the seal.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left side of the phone until it sits flush.
