Power Down Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Shut Down to turn off the Moto G7 Play completely.

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the SIM tray on the left edge and push to eject the tray.

Heat Rear Cover
2 minApply a heat gun or heated iOpener around the edges of the back panel for two minutes to soften the underlying adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull up gently to create a small gap.

Insert Opening Pick
1 minSlide the tip of a plastic opening pick into the gap between the rear cover and the frame.

Slice Rear Adhesive
3 minGlide the pick carefully along all four sides of the phone to cut through the back cover adhesive.

Tilt Rear Cover Open
1 minLift the rear cover from the left side like a book, taking care not to pull the attached fingerprint flex cable.

Disconnect Fingerprint Cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint reader flex cable connector straight up from the motherboard.

Unscrew Speaker Module
2 minRemove the six Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic loudspeaker assembly at the bottom of the frame.

Remove Speaker Assembly
1 minInsert a flat opening tool under the edge of the loudspeaker housing and pop it out of the chassis.

Clean Housing Recess
2 minWipe away old adhesive residues and dust inside the lower speaker housing using high-purity isopropyl alcohol.

Insert Replacement Speaker
1 minAlign the new loudspeaker module with the bottom cavity and press it firmly into position.

Secure Speaker Screws
2 minReinstall and tighten the six Phillips #00 screws to fix the new speaker module to the frame.

Reconnect Fingerprint Cable
1 minAlign the fingerprint sensor flex cable over its connector and press down until it clicks into place.

Apply Rear Adhesive
2 minPlace precut adhesive tape along the outer rim of the frame, peeling off the protective backing.

Press Rear Cover
2 minPosition the back cover onto the chassis and apply firm, even pressure around all edges to seal it.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left side of the phone until it sits flush.
