   Eject the SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or thin paperclip into the hole on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly straight in to pop out the tray, then remove it completely.

   Heat the Rear Cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low-to-medium heat to warm the edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the factory adhesive securing the plastic rear panel.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower half of the rear cover. Pull gently on the handle to create a small gap between the cover and the frame.

   Slice the Rear Adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide the pick along all edges to cut through the perimeter adhesive tape.

   Lift the Rear Panel

   Slowly swing the rear cover open from the right edge like a book. Do not pull it away completely yet, as it remains connected by the fingerprint sensor cable.

   Disconnect Fingerprint Cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pop the fingerprint sensor press connector straight up off the motherboard socket.

   Unscrew the Upper Shield

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the nine screws holding down the upper plastic motherboard cover.

   Remove Upper Plastic Shield

   Insert a spudger beneath the edge of the upper plastic cover and gently pry it up from the chassis.

   Disconnect the Battery Flex

   Pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger. Disconnecting the battery prevents electrical shorts during repair.

    Unscrew Speaker Enclosure

    Remove the six Phillips #000 screws securing the bottom speaker and daughterboard assembly cover.

    Remove Speaker Assembly

    Insert an opening pick or spudger under the edge of the bottom speaker assembly and pry it out from the phone chassis.

    Disconnect Interconnect Cable

    Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the main interconnect ribbon cable connector straight up off the charging port sub-board.

    Disconnect the Coaxial Cable

    Use precision tweezers to carefully pry the antenna coaxial cable head straight up from its socket on the sub-board.

    Remove Old Charging Board

    Insert a spudger beneath the original charging port sub-board and lift it out of the phone frame.

    Position New Charging Board

    Align the replacement charging port board over the lower frame recess and press it down firmly into place.

    Reconnect Antenna Cable

    Position the antenna cable head over its socket on the new sub-board and press down gently until it snaps into place.

    Reconnect Interconnect Flex

    Align the main interconnect ribbon cable connector over the sub-board socket and press down to seat it.

    Reposition Speaker Enclosure

    Set the bottom speaker housing back over the charging board, ensuring alignment tabs fit into the frame.

    Fasten Lower Screws

    Reinstall and tighten the six Phillips #000 screws into the lower speaker housing.

    Reconnect Battery Cable

    Align and press the battery flex connector straight down onto its motherboard socket until it clicks.

    Reinstall Upper Shield

    Place the upper motherboard shield back onto the top chassis and secure it with its nine Phillips #000 screws.

    Reconnect Fingerprint Cable

    Align the fingerprint flex connector with its socket on the motherboard and press down to secure it.

    Apply Back Cover Adhesive

    Clean away old adhesive residue with isopropyl alcohol, then apply narrow double-sided frame adhesive tape along the perimeter.

    Seal the Rear Cover

    Align the back cover with the frame edges and press down firmly along all sides to set the adhesive.

    Reinsert the SIM Tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left side of the device until it sits flush.
