   Eject SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

   Heat back panel edges

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat along the back cover edges for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Apply suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly near the bottom edge of the plastic rear cover.

   Create opening seam

   Pull up gently on the suction cup while holding the phone frame down to form a small gap at the bottom.

   Insert opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created between the back panel and the frame.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the back cover, keeping the pick insertion depth minimal to avoid internal components.

   Lift back cover gently

   Pivot the back cover open from the left side like a book, taking care not to yank the attached fingerprint flex cable.

   Disconnect fingerprint reader flex

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor connector straight up from the motherboard.

   Lift the rear cover away from the phone completely and set it aside.

    Remove the ten Phillips #00 screws securing the upper plastic motherboard cover.

    Use a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up off its motherboard socket.

    Soften battery adhesive

    Apply mild heat from a heat gun to the display side of the phone for 90 seconds to loosen the glue beneath the battery.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol

    Drip a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and side edges of the battery compartment.

    Pry out old battery

    Insert a flat plastic prying tool under the right side of the battery and carefully lift it out of the recess.

    Clean battery cavity

    Wipe down the battery recess using a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive.

    Install new battery adhesive

    Peel the protective backing off new battery adhesive strips and apply them flat inside the battery tray.

    Align the replacement battery into the compartment and press down firmly to set it into the adhesive.

    Press the battery connector directly onto the motherboard socket until it clicks into place.

    Reinstall upper midframe cover

    Place the plastic top midframe over the motherboard and press down along the edges to snap it in place.

    Reinstall and tighten the ten Phillips #00 screws into the upper plastic midframe.

    Hold the back cover near the phone and press the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector onto its motherboard socket.

    Apply fresh precut adhesive along the frame edges, align the back cover, and press firmly around the entire perimeter.

    Reinsert SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into the slot until it sits flush with the outer frame.
